It really was a case of 'all change' on our recent visit to see progress on The Abbey School build. With the sports hall now complete the changing rooms (that have been in use at The Abbey since it was first built in the mid 1970's), are being turned into the new meeting room! The internal walls, ceilings and fittings have all been removed ahead of the reconstruction. 

Progress on the main building works, which include the new classrooms and staffroom, is equally impressive. The external and internal blockwork walls are now almost complete meaning work will start on the roof shortly. This is great news as it’s likely that there will be a few months of wet and cold weather ahead of us before spring! 

It was very interesting to stand high up on the O&D construction site office and look at the new footprint of the school in 2024! The future for The Abbey School community is certainly going to be an exciting one!
