Back To NewsBehind the hoardings: DT room complete!
View ImagesThis exciting visit to Project 22 enabled us to see the new DT room in operation for the first time! Having taught DT at The Abbey I could really appreciate the large open space with lots of light and shelving. And as a former student at The Abbey Ben really liked displays of student work and the suspended movable hanging plug sockets! With lots more technology equipment on the way over the coming months we are really looking forward to seeing the exciting creations students will be making with Mr Moore!
Jacques took us to the new sports hall which had just had the final section of screed flooring laid. Once this is dry the decoration can begin, with the walls set to be painted a lovely aqua colour. This should look great against the wood flooring and white ceiling.
The large changing facilities have now been tiled and plastered and are also ready for decoration. Low energy LED lighting has of course been used in all rooms.
The large area outside the new classrooms and sports hall will eventually become the MUGA (multi-use games area), but whilst work begins on media/drama and library rooms it will be used for additional parking.
