View ImagesEagle Radio are hosting a 12 hour ‘Radiothon’ on Friday 24th June with the aim of raising £40,000 for local charity, Phyllis Tuckwell, which this year celebrates its 40th anniversary.
The idea is to raise enough money to help fund one of the Phyllis Tuckwell nurses, who help to provide supportive and compassionate end of life care in the local community for adult patients and families who are living with an advanced or terminal illness, such as cancer.
Eagle are really trying to rally the local community to come together for a great cause and asked schools across Surrey and North East Hampshire if they would be willing to put on a mufti day to raise money for this amazing local charity which has touched so many people in our community.
Abbey families have always got behind the annual ‘Reindeer Run’ fundraising appeal for this important cause so we were confident that they would want help with this one. Between them students and staff raised just over £160 from the non-uniform day. The students were very excited to receive a visit from Jackie and Kimberley from Eagle Radio who came to the school on Friday afternoon to collect their donations in person.
