Ski Trip 2025 - Sestriere, Italy

View Images

Sunday

Just a quick update as we are having Wi-Fi issues at the hotel!

It has been a very long and tiring day, but all students have been fantastic. Everyone is looking forward to hitting the slopes tomorrow.

Monday

Weather: It has been snowing for the past 2 days but we are hoping for some sun tomorrow.

We started the day with a lovely breakfast, before we headed off to collect our ski gear and meet our instructors. We completed 3 hours skiing this morning and 2 hours skiing this afternoon. There were some falls at the start but as the day went on there were less and the group with less experience on the slope soon progressed to a more difficult slope. After the skiing was done we all walked into town where we were treated to a cup of hot chocolate and a crepe, later followed by dinner and some downtime on return to the hotel.  Everyone had a fantastic day and the students have absolutely excelled.  All students now safely tucked up in bed for the night.

BRING ON TUESDAY....

Tuesday

Weather: Cloudy start but the sun broke through in the afternoon! Meant to be raining tomorrow.

Another awesome day of skiing, there were less crashes and the instructors were very impressed with how well the students are doing.

Everyone was very tired after a long day on the slopes so we had some extended downtime before dinner. After dinner we took a trip to a local ice cream parlour.

Below are some of the comments from the students about the day:

Josh – We made progress today and we will make more in the next 3 days.

Hugo – I liked listening to the music that was playing while we were skiing.

Felipe – We haven’t had it yet but I think the ice cream will be the best part of today

Storme – I thought it was funny when I fell over on the magic carpet and they had to stop it while I got myself standing upright again.

Sunny – I agree Storme falling over was funny!

Sassia – I enjoyed watching people crash

JJ – Felipe was right the ice-cream was the best part of the day.

Another wonderful day. All students are going higher up the mountain, skiing faster and becoming much more independent.

Thursday

Weather- Bit of snow in the morning but sunny in the afternoon. We should have sun on Friday as well

Another action-packed day for all. Every student is now able to get themselves prepared for a day on the slopes independently. Given the amount they have to remember this is a fantastic achievement. You will see from the photos that some of our students are beginning to reach great heights and ski further afield. The students are beginning to master the infamous drag lifts and now relish the opportunity to go on them.

Tonight, the students were given the opportunity to spend their Euros as we went souvenir shopping in town. We then had a dinner where the students spent their time discussing what they had done that day and what they had bought from the shops.

Highlight of the day - A group of students got together without being asked and bought some chocolate for our travel rep Georgia who has been absolutely amazing throughout this week. The students have been a real credit to the school.

Tomorrow is our last day on the slopes and we will be sorry to see it come to an end. That said it has been a very full on week and I think we will all be ready to return home!

Friday

We had a lovely final day skiing to end the week with. It was wall-to-wall blue sky and the Sun was shining so perfect skiing conditions. We had our usual 3 hour skiing lesson this morning, followed by lunch. After lunch we took a Gondola up to the top of the mountain so we could all look at the view and get a group photo. When we returned to the bottom of the mountain students received a small gift and ski achievement record. A massive congratulations goes to all students who have kept going this week and have all improved as the week has gone on. We finished the final evening with a trip to the cinema to watch Sonic 3.

Update – the students decided that chocolate wasn’t enough for our rep Georgia so they bought her a t-shirt and had everyone sign their names!

Bags are now packed, rooms have been tidied and we are ready for the journey home tomorrow. We leave the hotel at 6:20am and we very much look forward to seeing our friends and family back in the UK.

Ciao from Italy!
