Back To NewsBehind the hoardings: WOW!
View ImagesOn the Friday of half term we visited the first completed phase of Project 22! Seeing the four finished classrooms was both exciting and reassuring, with the building already feeling like an integral part of The Abbey.
The existing key stage 3 corridor opens into a large, bright, airy space that leads to the new classrooms, toilet facilities and office area. The classrooms themselves each have a fantastic teaching wall with state of the art Smart Boards and extensive storage cupboards. But importantly the new classrooms also echo the current key stage 3 rooms, with deep wooden window frames, extensive glazing, and a minimum distraction area. This gives the building a consistent look and feel which is particularly helpful in supporting students as they arrive in year 7, and progress through the school.
We are really looking forward to our next visit when we will be able to see the classrooms in use!
