Horticulture KS4

Qualification: ASDAN Award

Students in KS4 are working towards developing existing skills and to be introduced to a range of new horticultural skills through an ASDAN qualification. It will focus on basic horticultural skills and will gather evidence to demonstrate their progress and skill development in a particular area: 

• Getting ready to work in the garden (self-awareness), 
• Using tools safely (health and safety awareness), 
• Growing seeds and plants indoors (gaining and improving fine motor skills), 
• Growing plants outdoors (gaining and improving gross motor skills), 
• Keeping the garden area tidy (developing organisation skills), 
• Optional project  (choosing own activity), 

Students will also be able to demonstrate their cognitive, IT, teamwork, coping with challenges and socialising abilities.
